w3c validated page does not work

Hello,

I use awstats for statistics on my website, it generates a page what's
w3c validated (1 warning). But I cannot see the page with Epiphany!
With Firefox or MSIE8 it's no problem.

Epiphany says:

error on line 2 at column 2: StartTag: invalid element name
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

Any idea how this is possible?
