Ephany uses website fonts instead of my default font settings

I've found that Epiphany and also other browsers such as Opera and
Chrome ignore user-selected fonts for some websites such as
http://www.nytimes.com . Is this because of webkit using the website's
style settings to override user settings ? Mozilla correctly uses my
selected fonts for all pages - is this because it uses Gecko instead ?
So how to force Epiphany to use my chosen fonts for all webpages ?
