Webcam and Skype failure to show the Webcam Picture Correctly.

I tried to install QuickCam Windows driver qc848enu.exe with Wine and during the installation got the following warning:


Error Number 0x80040707

Description: DLL function call crashed: InstHelper:FindUSBHostController


Setup will now terminate. OK Button. 


Anyone got any ideas on this? I know that Wine won't install drivers I have tried to install my Canoscan 3200F and although the Tool Box installed nothing works.


Distro Mandriva 2009.0 Gnome Desktop it worked OK in Mandriva 2008.1 Spring but not in Mandriva 2009.0


Can this Logitech QuickCam Chat v8.4.8 be installed so Skype can use it? Ekiga recognises and uses the Camera OK, any one had any luck installing Webcams?
