Hi all,
After reading some comments (starting with Nicholas Carr -
http://www.roughtype.com/archives/2007/09/adblock_plus_th.php) on the
purpose and consequences of Adblock Plus, I've been thinking on some
compromise (temporary, until all these shiny new business models emerge)
solution for adblocking. I use Epiphany's adblocker - it's very
efficient and I have no problems with it, but...
I haven't used Firefox for a really long time (Epiphany is just too
good), so I don't have any experience with Adblock Plus. But from the
screenshots I can guess there is an option to disable add blocking for
specific sites. I think this is a good way to support the authors of
some sites I value and at the same time keep the pest at bay by default
on all other sites. I mean that for example, for one blog I would like
to be able to allow Google Ads to appear, and not for all the others.
So, my question is whether:
- this is possible to do (I suppose it might be possible with current
regular expression editor, but I think it is to difficult) in some
friendly way (I don't know - maybe by d&d websites into whitelist?)
- if possible, what's the procedure? Shall I file a feature request on
the bugzilla (the same as for regular expressions - I can't code it
myself)?
Cheers,
Rafał Próchniak
