I've tried with:

user_pref("network.protocol-handler.external.ed2k", "/usr/bin/ed2k");

in user-prefs.js in ~/.gnome2/epiphany/mozilla/epiphany and it doesn't
works (it doesn't let me neither create new preferences nor modify
existing ones). I'm using epiphany 2.16.1
