Yeah I think it make sense. Can you post a bug on bugzilla.gnome.org ?

Yeah, bug fixed in cvs.

That is bound to the "Open in tabs by default" pref.
Someone really need to do a bit of research on how people use tabs and
design a proper behavior. Right now there are several conflicts.
