There's a bug where this would fit:

It's about following nautilus' search order, but being able to set a
custom search order is practically a prerequisite for nautilus support.
I don't think it's doable as a plugin though as it likely requires
changes to internal objects, which are not (at least not easily) doable
through a plugin.
Regarding the activity of that bug, I don't know that somebody started
working on it. So if you want to give it a try, feel free to do it. :)
