Hi Engagement Team,
As most of you know, we have an opportunity of presenting a team report at the
Annual General Meeting (AGM) [1] at GUADEC each year, and I'm writing to ask for your help thinking of items we'd like to include.
Context
The
Team Reports section of the AGM [2] gives teams a chance to share and celebrate accomplishment with the larger community, and get people excited about joining specific teams.
It's also a chance to mention challenges teams may be facing, and / or wishlist items, so that we the larger community can help and provide support. The things highlighted during team reports can provide a great point of discussion for the remaining AGM.
How you can help
Below are the highlights and challenges we brainstormed during the last engagement team meeting. That list is in the
Engagement Team report page [3]. Please add to it, or respond directly to this email with your suggestions.
We also welcome any photos you have of your favorite engagement-related activities this year! You can gather the photos you have into an online album and then send a link to us.
It would be great to have some ideas and photos from GNOME Asia and GNOME Hispano -- we really want to start to integrate with you all more. I know
If you have any questions, please let me know!
Best,
Nuritzi
Highlights
Challenges
- Global integration: GNOME Engagement planning has been very US and European-centered. We'd love to support our international communities better and have more global integration and are starting projects around that, but we need help! How can we promote people who speak other languages?
- Looking for social media and marketing folks!! (Thanks to Biraj for his recent assistance)
- Are there efforts around Ubuntu's Unity / GNOME announcement? What does that mean for our community?
- Design resources and materials to help designers get onboarded
- Non-technical onboarding and local outreach support
