Hi All,
If you are planning on attending LAS GNOME in Portland on September 19 - 23rd, register now! There is limited space available and entrance will be granted on a first come, first served basis to those who register.
Even if you can't make it, please help us promote LAS GNOME. Attached is a cool badge you can use on social media or your blog and remember to link to las.gnome.org. You never know who will see your post! It helps us to have global interest, especially since LAS GNOME is promoting cross-desktop technologies that we hope will have international adoption (Flatpak, Builder, the idea of a Linux App Ecosystem).
Lastly, we are pleased to provide travel sponsorship. Please see details below if you're interested in applying.
Thanks and have a great weekend everyone!
Best,
Nuritzi
Regarding Travel Sponsorship
The GNOME Foundation can offer travel sponsorship to individuals whowant to attend LAS GNOME and need financial assistance. We are happy to announce that the Travel Committee is ready to receiveapplications for sponsorships to attend LAS GNOME 2016.Application deadline: Please send in your applications now.We would also like to take this opportunity to encourage, andespecially soon-to-be-sponsored attendees, to volunteer during LAS GNOME.The instructions for sponsorship applications are athttps://wiki.gnome.org/TravelIf you need a visa invitation letter, please also read:https://wiki.gnome.org/Travel/InvitationsSome additional comments:* If you are offered help with accommodation, the Travel Committeewill book your accommodation. You should state that you needaccommodation, and leave the cost blank.* Look for the most economical reasonable option (i.e. through aservice like kayak.com). If we find a cheaper price, that will be thecost considered during the evaluation and you will make a kitten sadbecause you didn't do your research properly.* Any information you send to the Travel Committee will be private.* Asking for sponsorship *does not* guarantee that you will be sponsored.* A good application with good information will be processed faster.* No personal emails. Keep travel-committee CCed on all of yourreplies. Neglecting to do this will delay your application.* How to get to Portland: http://las.gnome.org/travel/* The Travel committee should confirm that we have received yourapplication within 2-3 days. After that, we will process themtogether. Regardless of whether your application is accepted orrejected, you will always receive a response. You can find the travel committee in the #travel channel at irc.gnome.org.
