ikiwiki, git and marketing

A while ago we talked about using git for marketing docs and decided it would be too much of a barrier to entry to many of the people we'd like to recruit to join the marketing team.

Here's another idea, ikiwiki. The FSF uses it as it allows git/subversion users to interact via the VC tools but others can use the web interface to edit, view history and compare revisions. 

Anybody have any experience with it?
