I think we can promote the use and development of applications for
education. Actually there are very good applications, but its not easy for teachers have a working enviroment. The Gnome Education may be a point of reference with resources and experiences. May be work with the edubuntu proyect, but not excluding a edufedora :) Gonzalo Claus Schwarm wrote: On Tue, 28 Feb 2006 14:36:25 -0300 Gonzalo Odiard <go turix com ar> wrote:What you think about a GNOME Education project?I think it's amazing that you already started! Rock! And yes, you're right: Education is maybe the most important target. People need to get used to, and learn about Linux desktops as soon as possible. I'm just not sure whether it makes sense to compete with KDE for the same audience. But since there's probably no way to reach an aggreement with KDE about target markets, and there's more than just one country in the world, I'd say: Rock on! :-) You may like to check the 'teens' page in the wiki for some add-on applications if you are ever switching to a sort of distribution CD. ;-) Cheers, Claus |
