Hi,

It's GUADEC, so 500 copies would probably do. The GUADEC program, in A5
format, is usually about 32 pages, bump that up to A3, and we're down to
8 or 12 pages for the conference schedule + sponsors, and (I'd say) 4
pages for articles.

I guess, you mean A4, not A3.

What Quim's proposed is that the content for the programme get done in
the normal way, that the ads get handled by him, and that the GNOME
Journal provides articles (6 or 7) for a special edition. Reprinting a
best-of the past year, if there aren't enough new articles, or perhaps
doing interviews with keynotes for cheap column inches, is also an option.

I just checked our archives. As I said in my frist answer, using the
content is legal but it will make the program look strange.

I mean: Just imageing to open a conference program to find, dunno, an
opinon piece about marketing GNOME! Or an app review! Don't you think
that'll be strange? The most appropriate content are the deployment
stories.

However. I just talked to Lucas Rocha. He's glad to help organizing and
coordinating new articles, dedicated to more appropriate topics around
GUADEC.

He already submitted a paper for GUADEC about the GNOME Journal so that
fits very nicely. :-)

But if we can't find writers, I suggest to simply use the GUADEC
web page header graphic for the program front page. It's probably made
in Inkscape anyway, and will fit perfectly.

Cheers,
Claus
