Probably worth noting for the record that if we can get a serious ppt
viewer, I'd seriously consider dumping OOo from the liveCD- it takes
up so much of the CD, and is so slow to start up, that I'm not sure it
makes sense to keep on a GNOME-oriented CD. That would free up a lot
more space for translations in general, both by making each
translation set smaller and by freeing up space.

Simos-
I've responded to your comments in the wiki about language support, I
hope that is useful.
Thanks, Luis.
I read the comments on the Wiki page for language support.

We will go soon for a custom LiveCD as described below in (2).
Simos
I definitely expect in the future:
(1) that the 'stock' CDs produced for releases will have the
most-spoken several languages, keeping in mind that we have to
localize not just GNOME but also the installer and mozilla (and
probably OOo for the near-term as well.) I believe the first release
had something like 11 languages, but I honestly forgot to check before
release- we'll make it part of the release in the future.
(2) that it should be stupidly easy for local language groups to
produce custom liveCDs. There are a couple open items on the
http://live.gnome.org/GnomeLiveCd_2fToDo page about this; anyone who
wants to look into them (I hope someone from gnome-i18n will, as I
don't have time right now) would be more than welcome to do so. I
believe that once the questions in the ToDo are resolved it would be
quite easy for any localization group to produce a fully localized CD.

Hi,
We (Greek Localisation Team) are considering to distribute GNOME LiveCD
along with the press release.
I have not downloaded the CD yet, so my question is, are there languages
other than English included?
I think there are non-english languges included, and it does ask you to
choose a language when it starts. Luis and the marketing list are the
people who would know best.
The full support of languages just for GNOME looks to be around 100MB
(?).
So, if the LiveCD that Luis is working on does not have languages apart
from English, is anyone interested/(already done) to make custom
language CDs?
