A note on the screenshot ... when I took alsamixer03 and alsamixer04 I had Mic 
muted ... obviously, that isn't how I tested things. I normally have mic 
unmuted, but front mic and line-in muted. I have also tested with mic, 
frontmic and linein all unmuted. Oops!
