I went through source file in $ekiga/plugin/gstreamer, and found that only audio input and video input are taken care of here.
Does it mean Ekiga only care about audio/video source, and all codecs depend on OPAL?
ptlib library provides audio and video input/output plugins (e.g. alsa,
v4l2). gstreamer code in ekiga provides them too, but the code is not
finished.
opal provides audio and video codecs (e.g. theora, speex), SIP, network
connections.
ekiga provides the gui, ldap support and other high-level things (e.g.
local roster/contacts, chat window).
