Thanks for the responses about audio messaging.
The Wikipedia article about SIP contains
this sentence.
"Although two SIP endpoints can communicate
without any intervening SIP infrastructure
... this approach is impractical for a public
service."
Why is this? As a specific example, what is
the advantage of calling sip:peasthope ekiga net
rather than sip:peasthope carnot yi org?
