Just for your info, I have been using ekiga 3.0.2 on Ubuntu hardy and I can connect using - sip:abc w x y z
I hear busy tone,connecting tone & ringing tone.

where "hostname" can be anything and "dest_IP" is the remote endpoint
IP address ?
I tried "sip:abc 192 168 1 34", it returned nothing, no connecting
tone nor busying tone
