If the cause of an audio problem is likely to be pulseaudio, what is
the user to do?
Start it with pasuspender (and make sure that in asound.conf, pulse is
not the default server for pcm).
Chris, - this is the wrong answer.
You are asking the user to:
*start ekiga with pasuspender
*make sure that pulse is not the default server for pcm in asound.conf
For the newbie, this is impossible.
This will break most desktops
Even for the moderately capable linux person, this is hard to achieve.
Surely the correct answer is:
improve pulse audio in ptlib. To achieve this, we need to
* enter into dialogue with the pulse audio developers.
* start taking notice of audio bug reports and consider them as
worthy of attention.
