Hi Mike,
the problem you had was due to a strange interpretation of your X-Server's implementor
of the XvGrabPort function. I have adapted our implementation to cope with these
X Servers as well and committed the change to the gnome-2-24 branch (which will become 3.0.1
in a few weeks) and trunk (which will become 3.2.0).

Find the attached file. Hope this helps.

Works fine on the Via board, I don't know for the intel 855 (I might
have tried it, not sure, I will let you know).
