500 and 501 has not worked in our location for 3 days.  I fact I don't know where you trying it from but it didn't work 10 minutes ago.  I've just checked my Windows-XP version and it is running 500 but 501 does not have the introduction.  So, I think you using a windows machine instead of Ubuntu 7.10, in fact in the morning we received the security check failure.
