Replying to my own message: it seems not to be possible, as SIP returns
the same error message for no common video or audio codec. But I may be
wrong.

or "No audio common codec"? I will post a patch...

So I guess I am out of luck unless I can get my provider to support
other codecs or will Ekiga support these codecs in the future? I
understand that G729 is patent encumbered but what about G723 and
G711?
