Yes, I think it has helped. I opened my firewall to range 5000:5100/udp
and now I can hear my echo when calling 500 ekiga net
I first mistakingly thought that only port 5060 was required for
listening but the whole range 5000:5100 is apparently needed.
It isn't very clear for me (and maybe others) on
http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Internet_ports_used_by_Ekiga what a
software firewall has to allow for incoming traffic.
It says "The main port listening for incoming connections in Ekiga for
SIP is port 5060 (UDP),...", because of this I thought that only that
port had to be opened for incoming traffic.
And also "STUN 3478-3479 UDP Outgoing traffic to the STUN server":
that's for the incoming ports for the STUN server, right? (My Mandriva
firewall allows every outgoing connection (I think) so that's not a
problem.)
Thank you,
vatbier
