Have You set up rfcomm.conf in /etc/bluetooth to BT address of headset?
(I have such setting), may that's the difference?
BTW, I remarked, that all settings in this file MUST be to the same
CHANNEL, or BT fails. (Don't know it's a FEATURE or a BUG ;) )
