This sounds like Asterisk is detecting the problem that you are call
from and to the same IP address (your public/external IP address).
I have used this technique to call from a HardIP phone (on FWD) to a
Softphone (Ekiga on Ekiga.net), both located on a local NAT'ed network.
The call was sucessfully setup (Ekiga 'Rings'), but RTP stream fails.
Another thing that might help is that I have 'moved' the ports that the
hardphone(s) uses so that I can have multiple phones behind one router.
