I want to debug the opal library by using ekiga as the front end. so, can i do that with -g flag, as in `./configure -g` or is it `make -g`??

That one looks like what you want.
What debugging do you want? The -g flag is used by default. On the other hand, the --enable-opal-debug enables some obscure (for me) additional information.
