Thanks for wanting to help.

For gstreamer, just compile ekiga with gstreamer support and fix any bug 
(it does not work currently) by looking at plugins/gstreamer directory. 
 Please use master/unstable branch 
(http://wiki.ekiga.org/index.php/Download_Ekiga_sources)

For TCP support, all the information is at 
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341518.  It seems TCP support 
exists in opal, so ekiga needs only to use it.
