I just downloaded EasyTag to manage ID3 tags on podcasts. There is an issue which may be a bug, or may be easily fixed. When I go to a directory that has MP3s in need of tagging, no files appear until I issue a command to repopulate the files. I found this when I right-clicked on a single file, chose "Open with.." and chose EasyTag. When EasyTag opened, it was in the default directory, not the location of the file. When I went to that directory, it was empty until I repopulated it.Then, everyting was OK. Is this a known issue? Is this easily fixed?
You do not mention which version of EasyTAG you are using, but loading the files in a directory on startup has been enabled for default since at least 2.4.0 (I changed this as part of the switch to using GSettings). A user preference is available to control whether to load the tags from files on startup, so I suggest that you look in the preferences and check that it is enabled.
I cannot recall a bug about opening a directory when it is passed as an argument (as when using the "Open With…" feature of a file manager) but it works for me with the latest stable version (2.4.2) so I suggest that you upgrade. Regarding the user preference to control whether to load files on startup when opening a given directory, there is an open bug to make EasyTAG always load the files:
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=764358This needs a bit of thinking about before it is fixed, as the startup process is already rather complicated. However, it should solve the problem completely when opening a directory in EasyTAG externally.
