I have now upgraded my machine to openSUSE LEAP 42.1 and installed Easytag 2.4.0 from repo. I didn't see any documentation in the repo and F1 doesn't bring up help. I am very rusty and need to revise before using Easytag in earnest. I recall there were some tutorials as well as help. Could somebody give me some guidance please?
There has not been a tutorial included with EasyTAG with some time, but there is now the user help, which should have been shown with F1. As nothing was shown, it suggests that you do not have Yelp installed. It was probably not clear to packagers that Yelp should be installed, so I clarified this in the README, and warned during the configure process:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/easytag/commit/?id=4df33c1f7b719ea59d9a054b009ec2217b261b8bIt would help if you could file a bug against the package in your distribution, and to request that Yelp is added as a (possibly optional) dependency of EasyTAG.
I made this a bit friendlier to users by falling back to the online help if Yelp fails to start:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/easytag/commit/?id=3dbfd06126c259d163541b2b49d937df3692266dEven though it is preferable for the user to use Yelp (it views the installed help files corresponding to the user's language automatically, among other things), it is possible to view an HTML version of the help online:
