There are a couple of commits on top of 2.2.1 on the easytag-2-2 branch, 
which might or might not help with crashes:

Thanks for the patch! I do not have time to look at it until the end of 
the week, because I am travelling and at a hackfest until Friday. Rest 
assured, your patch will be added before the 2.2.2 release, which will 
be out in a week or two, depending on how many other bugs are fixed in 
the coming days.
