I suggest you remove the package completely and try a Slackbuild:  http://slackbuilds.org/repository/12.0/multimedia/easytag/

If the script doesn't work either, you can then ask the SlackBuilds.org mailing list or join #slackbuilds on FreeNode for more help.

My guess is that you are missing a dependency.  Did you do a full Slackware install, or you picked certain groups/packages you wanted to install and omitted others?

Not much of help I guess, but I have EasyTag 2.0 and Ubuntu 7.04 and it works fine for me. Maybe a 2.1 bug? Have you tried 2.0?
