Hi!
I work a lot with hard links to organize the tracks in different
schemes or to master CDs. This gives me a big problem with easytag.
It seems that it doesn't just write the new ID3 Info at the end of the
file, but builds up a new copy of that file and deletes the old
one.
This results in these side effects:
Instead of changing the ID3 info in all linked files, only the version
worked with is changed.
The file is not removed, because it has still links. So at least, we
now have two copies of the same file. The version with the new ID3
info and the old versions somewhere else in the file tree.
As you cannot tell if this behaviour is a bug or a feature I searched
through the preference dialog, but couldn't find an option to turn it
off.
So please can someone enlighten me, what easytag is really doing while
saving. And of course: I would like to see that option, where you can
turn off that behaviour. If that isn't to complicated and someone
gives me a hint, I would also change it myself.
cu,
john
