To Whom It May Concern:

I am quite a novice to Linux/Lubuntu and, consequently, EVOLUTION which I am testing as a possible alternative to Microsoft products.

While I am generally impressed with the functionality of a free product I have found a somewhat irritating behavior with RECEIVING mail.

1. I am using the IMAP protocol with the check box to Check for new messages every... ticked OFF (cf. screenshot enclosed), i.e., all mail checking is supposed to be manual action.

2. Also - and more importantly - I have ticked OFF the "Mail Preferences" option to Check for new messages on start (see Att. 2).

3. Unfortunately EVOLUTION does pull in all messages that have piled up once I start the client.

4. Subsequent messages are NOT being pulled in automatically as expected and desired.

Please let me know how I can suppress the irritating behavior described in bullet 3. above. In case you need more information or data, please do not hesitate to let me know.
