Yes, I probably have some incompatible versions of gstreamer or 
something installed.  I was coming to that conclusion myself.

And that's my point.  Simplify.

And again, I encourage you to share this with anyone that is simpathetic 
to my point of view regarding many GTK sources.

There ARE some end users out here.  Some are (or would have been) 
interested in becoming developers.
