Have I understand it correctly that Dia will _not_ support either:
Samba shares (for example: \\foo\bar\quz.png)
or
Windows environment variables (for example: %UserProfile%\foobar.png)
in image paths, or I am missing something?


Support WHERE?
In shape definition files? Of course, not. The paths in there are relative
paths.
