Dia-0.96-pre3, (called with app/run_dia.sh) does not offer a list of
recent diagrams
The same happens with dia-0.96-pre4
It does for me, with GTK 2.8.15 on a FC5 system. Whether or not I compile
with Gnome enabled. What system are you compiling it on?
I dont know for sure (how can I?, please)
Just try:
dia --version --verbose
should give you something similar to
Dia version 0.96-pre3, compiled 21:51:50 Feb 8 2007
Compiler: MSC 1200
with : threads cairo libart
Library versions
libpng : 1.2.12 (1.2.12)
libxml : 200.60.6 (2.6.6)
glib : 2.13.0 (2.13.0)
pango : version not available
gtk+ : 2.6.11 (2.6.11)
May be I have GTK 2.6.9 (from /usr/local/include/gtk-2.0/gtk/gtkversion.h)
I work with Suse 10.1
I had no problem during configure.
I'm guessing it's the older GTK, but I can't see why. Unfortunately, I
kill ed my SuSE 10.0 installation recently, so I can't compare.
Yes, this seems to be an issue with gtk+-2-6 (as visible above I just did
a rebuild against gtk+ 2.6.11, IIRC the latest in the 2.6 series.
No, but ~/.dia/persistence gets updated correctly
Which means it's "merely" a display problem. I think the GtkAction
transition may be involved.
Very likely, I think earlier GIMP versions had a similar issue, i.e. merged
menus not showing up.
If you can compile a GTK 2.8.* and see if it
works there, we may see if we'll need to update the GTK requirements.
I'd rather like to avoid this. A hard dependency on gtk+-2.8 or even
2.10 (the current 'supported' version) would kill the goal to have Dia
potentially working on win9x and maemo.
So I'll invest some time how to work around the issue based on gtk+ 2.6.

Hans
