Curved Arrows on Windows

Hi guys and gals

I am having a huge problem with Dia 0.95.1 on a windows XP machine.

You can place a curved arrow on a document and then attached the ends to
any objects but if you try to put the directly on an object (like you
would if you were using straight arrows) it hangs. 

Any ideas
