Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment
variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively you may set the GTK_CFLAGS and GTK_LIBS
environment variables
to avoid the need to call pkg-config. See the
pkg-config man page for
more details.

My .bashrc is as follows

CPPFLAGS="-I/opt/gtk/include"
LDFLAGS="-L/opt/gtk/lib"
PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/opt/gtk/lib/pkgconfig:/usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/:/opt/gnome/lib/pkgconfig/:/usr/include/libxml2/
LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/opt/gtk/lib"
PATH="/opt/gtk/bin:$PATH"
export CPPFLAGS LDFLAGS PKG_CONFIG_PATH
LD_LIBRARY_PATH PATH

What is the reason for this error :

checking whether GNOME specific code should be used...
no
checking for GTK... Requested 'gtk+-2.0 >= 2.6.0' but

configure: error: Package requirements (gtk+-2.0 >=

Seeing the error i installed GTK 2.10 in /opt/gtk
which has the following files:

. .. bin include lib man share

and how can i correct it please. Thankyou for your
time.

Thanks in advance
