conversion of .shape files

I'm looking to import a few Dia shapes into another program without
rasterization.  How can I batch convert a set of .shape files to
another vector format?  Ideally, I'd like to convert to a format
understood by many typical vector-drawing programs, such as .dtx,
.wmf, .emf, .eps, .fig .

If it were possible to automatically generate a .dia for each .shape
file, I assume that I could use 'dia -e '.
