It'd help if you described what you're doing.  Otherwise, I'm tempted to
just say "Yes, you should do it the right way."  But when adding an
image, are you double-clicking the image you added so that you get the
properties dialog for it, and then setting the "Image file" property to
the image you want, and then clicking "Apply" or "OK"?
