Problems with dia on WinXP

Hi List

I am currently getting the following error message from dia (v0.94)
running on win XP Pro (SP2) when I try to start it:

dia.exe:3408 GLib-CRITICAL **: file gutf8.c: line 1537 (g_utf_validate):
assertion 'str!= NULL' failed

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but nothing appears to work.
Does anybody have any clues as to where I should start looking?
