As I voted other...

I think length 0.6, width 0.5 works ok.
0.5 both ways is too small and I think the increased length gives a
slimmer
look to the arrow which is more aesthetically pleasing IMHO

The only problem with that is that we'd use the same default size for
all arrows, and this'd make the round arrowheads ellipsoidial. Attached
is a PNG of how the various sizes look, with three different arrowheads
(the left-most one is currently selected by default). Should have made
that before the poll, of course.

I voted for other. I couldn't really think of the arrow length in
isolation.

I did a bit of playing around and I'm now using line width 0.01
arrow length 0.4 and arrow width 0.2 which gives me a nice 2:1 slope on
the arrows.

I also really like the much thinner lines, I have also felt that Dia has
produced very large chunky diagrams and at the default size and zoom level
I very quickly produce large diagrams that sprawl over many pages (more
due to my lack of artistica ability than Dia but I find pushing down the
line sizes for everything really helps make things look sharper and more
professional).
