Hi, XO,
I submitted a patch a few weeks ago to fix font sizes and text placement
in the METAPOST output. I believe the changes are in CVS now. There
are instructions for getting a CVS shapshot of Dia under "Getting the
latest sources from CVS" on the "Developers" section of the Dia home page.

Would it be possible to put the control points of text in the middle
of the text, or easier, change the way that metapost generates output?
The problem is that with METAPOST output, it appears to use the control
point as the basis for centering the text, whereas in other outputs the
text is centered as it visibly appears in the document.
This is troublesome when multiple output formats are required, where
METAPOST is included in the multiple outputs, because then the position
of text has to be moved to make it look centered.
Also in my version, METAPOST doesn't generate colored text; all the generated
text is black.
The text is also often too small, is there anyway to make it bigger in
dia, i.e. without having to modify the mp file post-dia?
Regards
