Maybe, at least you just get less warning messages
thus much improved performance. Try running dia 2>nul:
if you still get messages.
One other question I guess:
can I leave my current Dia alone and
install the new one beside it, or will
this create registry problems?
Depends what you understand under "registry problems"
The installer is (currently) using the registry for the
following things:
* Uninstallation handling
Manual uninstallation is easy - just delete the installation folder,
go through the registry with regedit and look for dia (or have a
look at the installer sources to see the registry keys) - you can also
just keep the registry entries, a few bytes that will do no harm.
* File type registration/explorer context menus
Here the second installation will overwrite the existing one.
Just install the first one again, if you like it better.
Besides this, parallel installation should work fine.
