RE: Zooming what ?

The Visio zoom tool would zoom on wherever your mouse was pointing. Very
nice to be able to (ctrl-wheeldown) zoom out, point to a region
(ctrl-wheelup) zoom into somewhere else. No panning needed.

do
  fork agent( smith );

Another idea, inspired by working ctrl+scroll patch:

Change Zoom tool so that it preserves a zoom point.

I mean: now, when you zoom in a graph by clicking a zoom tool or
ctrl+wheel, the graph point at screen location of the cursor is
displayed at window's center point.

So if i get this right when you are using the Magnify/Zoom
Tool and you
point it somewhere on a document and click. The Zoom centres
on the point
you just clicked on instead of just zooming to the centre of where the
previous View.

Alan (which I discussed the idea with) also suggested to make zoom
center on selected objects - maybe that would make sense
for non-tool
zooming (the option button one).

Yes this would make most sense for non tool Zooming such as zooming by
using the keybindings or zoooming using the scroll wheel.

Any suggestions ?
