Hi,
When I create a text element ('T' button) that is relatively long
(eg. 30 'a' characters), and then I drag it around the editor
screen, the edges of the text line leave some garbage artifacts

It isnt a big deal, but I wonder if other people are also
experiencing this?
This is a bounding box problem. I am aware of it for the FreeType
rendering, but I thought the GDK text renderer was ok. It can be
problematic if the text is in a box that then is made too small.
