Re: [gnome-desktop-testing] Mago - A Desktop Testing Initiative

Yes, that what it means.

The GNOME Desktop testing GIT repository will be terminated, in fact it is just a change of name. More over, whenever AT-SPI gets ported to D-BUS, this project will be useful to KDE users, so having a project neutral name seems like the best option.

Don't you agree?

Cheers,
Ara.

Hello people,

This is a follow up of the previous discussion on the list about where to host the project and how to synchronize different efforts into the same place. After thinking about having a separate GNOME vanilla repository, it happened that this one was often out of date and some proposed patches never got into it.

That's why I have just set one project, with a brand new name, "Mago", that will contain all the efforts put in this project.

Mago is hosted in Launchpad and https://launchpad.net/mago and you can start adding test cases by just creating a branch of your own and propose merges as you go by. The trunk branch is owned by a Launchpad team, mago-contributors, that it is a moderated team. Once you have contributed through merge proposals, you can apply to be part of the team and will be able to push to trunk and review some other members contributions.

Mago is going to have a website, yet to come. In the middle time you can check the documentation available in the GNOME wiki [1]

I have created a couple of branding tasks in Launchpad, if you want to do any of them, assign them to yourself.

* The HTML report needs a nice CSS stylesheet: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mago/+bug/385576 * And, of course, we need a logo: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mago/+bug/385570

Mago is going to be a great testing project. So join soon, and drive it.

Cheers,
Ara.
