gedit and Geary maintainers

Howdy Everyone,

I noticed that gedit and Geary are looking for a maintainer. (https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/)

Is this still true? GitLab seems very active for both projects currently. Having both written a commercial text editor and e-mail clients in the past both projects are intriguing to me.
