I found that the Openweather extension maintained by  Jens Lody suited me better than the Gnome version. So much so that its the one I recommend to other Gnome users

This could be provided by geocode-glib though, meaning we could stop
relying on a weather library to provide locations. And we'll still need
a "drop-down" for those.

I could certainly design a better one. :)
