a mirror in github will not stop anyone from doing a mirror in gitorious as well. But as it turns out, there is a huge community of developers in github (way bigger than gitorious') that we can outreach if we have an official mirror there.

I would prefer to have a gitorious instance setup on the GNOME servers
as has been previously discussed. Basically someone would need to do the
