gudev is packaged in the one tarball with udev. Therefore I assumed that
gudev version 147 requires >= udev 147. udev 147 was selected so JHBuild
supports as many distros as possible. I don't want to alienate potential
developers because their distro is a tiny bit old.
Distro's with udev 147:
Ubuntu >= 9.10 karmic
Fedora >= 13 goddard
Mint >= 8 helena
openSUSE >= 11.3
Red Hat >= RHEL-6
Mandriva >= 2010.1
